I noticed Manchester City didn't wear black arm bands during their game yesterday. Rivals and all that I suppose.

Our lads wore them.

Respect.

If CFC want to pay a PROPER tribute to Butch, they'll have a minute's silence, not one of those fucking minute's applause.

Assuming it is applause, keep an eye on Stuart Pearce. He'll be head bowed, observing a minute's silence.

OLD SCHOOL!

This is a real opportunity for us, Chelsea can have their scouse wank fest (and those on here that way inclined can join in) and we can get into them and get the points.

I liked him. A very positive bloke and I wish his family well as I lost my dad the same way at exactly the same age. Hopefully the majority will behave at the weekend

Never thought the day would come whereby ourselves and CFC are in agreement on ANYTHING

This man has respect from everyone whoever loves the game...throughout every club up and down the land

Not many gain that.

Re: Ray Wilkins - RIP
Yes he made some terrible mistakes or what I would describe as dangerously thoughtless judgements, but he was ill, obviously we know now very ill indeed, and when you are that sick with that disease of the brain, you are not normal or rational.

Went to the fist Charity Shield in Cardiff
man utd v liverpool

Stayed the night in the Marriott Hotel Cardiff and lot of ex footballers were in the bar till gone midnight.

Ray Wilkins was one I remember, having a good time, talking to everyone, however he could hardly stand at the end of the night.

Looking back it was him having a good time but also slight footballers depression of not playing.
He was a Football Man!

R.I.P Butch Wilkns, terrible news he was a brilliant passer of the ball a good intelligent footballer who I will always remember as a solid England pick.

Had the pleasure of chatting to him on the way home from the Forest semi-final when Tony Gale got sent off.

I was driving and we stopped alongside him in traffic. After giving him some abuse he commented about how unlucky we were and the ridiculous decision to send Gale off.

Seemed a really down to earth, decent bloke and most of the time he commentated always seemed respectful about WH, I imagine from his days at Senrab.

RIP Ray, you stood out as a real gent compared to the modern breed of players.
